Blogging is something I have always loved to do.  Last year, as a new year’s resolution, I abstained from blogging for a whole year.  I had burnt out and needed a fresh perspective.  So, I decided to try out some new things this year when I started blogging again.  I looked at the blogs I loved to read and incorporated some things into my own new blog.  So, now I will share some of those secrets I learned.  🙂

First, in a normal month, I only write three times a week – Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.  I like to read blogs that I know will have content on them pretty regularly, so this is my way of doing the same for my readers.

Because I have a steady schedule of blogs, I wanted to make sure I actually had something to write.  Well, this is where the obnoxious organizer in me went to work.  Every first Saturday of the month, I plan the next month (so in March, I planned April).  It gives me an idea of where I have down time to spend working on hobbies or resting, and which weekends are going to be crazy busy.  It also helps me plan out my blogs (and reminds me to bring my camera to events, which I’m horrible at remembering to do).

This definitely helped me when I decided to take on the A to Z challenge.  I’m excited to see how it all will work in the end!  I hope you enjoy reading my journey from A to Z!

Happy Blogging!

  1. I am horrible at bringing my camera too! I have a phone now that takes great pics but sometimes I don’t want to “step-away” from the fun-having to take a picture of it! I love the planning idea! Except for the Challenge, I’ve never done that, but I would like to!

  2. I really enjoyed reading this. I’m so grateful for the challenge, to make me get my butt in gear and sit down to blog!

    Thanks for sharing!!

  3. Great tips! I had a goal this year to schedule out my posts like that but so far I’d give myself about a D. I need your organization skills! 🙂

  4. I seem to go through writing spells. I always have so much to say, but it’s hard to take the time to sit down and write. Typically when my husband is deployed I write all the time. But when he’s here all I want to do is spend time with him in my free time. I need to find an hour or so to myself… I like your schedule though! Maybe I’ll put that to good use!!

    • Yea, right now, it’s easier to write because it’s busy season and my husband’s an accountant, but I know that the warmer the weather gets, the longer he stays at home, the more I will want to be away from the computer. 🙂

Also, I have a brother who has been deployed. So proud of him. 🙂

  5. Just checking out the list of A-Z’ers 🙂

You’ve really got me thinking now lol. I started blogging in January, determined to do a post a day for 2012, but now I’m wondering if that’s actually realistic lol. I don’t want to end up with burnout and quit altogether lol 😦

Perhaps 3 times a week would be better. Thanks for the heads up 🙂
