“Leadership Training for Christ…assists young Christians to develop their knowledge of the Bible and biblical principles, enhance their communication and leadership skills, and orient their energies and abilities to areas of Christian service.” – definition taken from one of the LTC sites
I didn’t have this kind of organization growing up. We had Bible Bowl competitions and things like that, but it was never as varied as this particular organization. I was asked this year to coach the 3rd through 6th grade chorus. It was so much fun, and I love seeing these talented kids get excited about singing.
We started practicing in February. We sang three different songs, all A Capella. Our competition time was early Saturday morning, but these kids were already running on adrenaline and excitement! And they did an awesome job! One of our songs was a harmony, with half the kids singing soprano and the other half singing alto. It’s amazing how quickly they could pick up the harmonies, as long as they started on the right note!
I love things like this that allow kids to see how their talents can honor God in so many ways. I hope to coach again next year!
