What is Small Group?

Last night, we kicked off our small group time for the year.  Of course, being the awesome blogger that I am, I completely forgot to take any pictures of our first meeting together.  Do I get points for remembering to put the camera in my purse?  Oh well.

Anyway, for those of you that may not know what I’m referring to when I say “small group”, this is a special group of people who come together once a week to encourage each other and learn more about God’s plan for us.  It’s kind of like our “immediate church family” within our entire church family (just like you have your immediate family and then your extended family).

We do a whole lot more than just meet once a week, too.  Actually, the girls day I had this summer included the girls from our small group.  The people in the small group tend to become your closest friends, which I think is awesome considering we have a pretty amazing group.

We are pretty blessed to have them in our lives!

  1. Small groups are so amazing! Nate and I used to go to a fairly large church with small groups and we loved ours! But our new church is very tiny, so it’s pretty much a small group in itself. Ha, ha! But we’re hoping to grow larger! 🙂

    • Yea, I grew up in a small church so I know the feeling. 🙂 Thank goodness for small groups in these bigger churches though! I would feel overwhelmed if it wasn’t for these groups! Small churches have that advantage. Praying for success in your new church! 🙂
