I had a lot of things I had to get done before the Christmas season started. Here is how I organized those tasks last week.
First, I looked at my calendar to what I could do this week so that I wouldn’t be overwhelmed in the weeks to come. I wrote all the different tasks for this week alone on a note card. I divided the number of tasks by the number of days I had to accomplish them. This particular week, each day would have 2 tasks (it doesn’t always divide evenly).
Every morning, for 15 mins or less, I decided which tasks I wanted to tackle, usually picking one bigger task and two smaller ones. Some tasks (like cleaning the house) were broken into several days to accomplish, but having the lists in front of me help me see the bigger picture while working out all the details.
On Saturday, we were able to just focus on decorating for the holidays. Having that goal at the end of the week really motivated me to stay on task. We had a lot of fun decorating the tree, turning on the tunes, and lighting the candles to usher in the Christmas season. 🙂
