The final full day my family was here, we took them to our favorite local breakfast place, the 5th Street Patio Café. We are never disappointed here! I had the banana pancakes, and Michael had the Bacon, Egg and Lettuce sandwich with home fries. It was delicious!
Then, we went to the farmer’s market. This market has grown quite a bit from the first time we visited three years ago. They have a blacksmith, live music, as well as goats that frolic through the market. I love to pick up some fresh okra (even though I now grow it in my own garden) as well as squash, honey, and peaches.
Then, my brother and dad checked out some cars that were on display in Downtown. My brother loves working on cars, and it’s something that seems to run in our family, especially all the guys.
After that we watched the Lone Ranger. It was cute, and I probably won’t do a review on it. Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer was funny, but it’s not one that I think I would watch again and again.
Once we got home it was time for some grillin’! I prepared my okra, while mom put vegetables on skewers and Dad and Michael cooked the meat. It was a feast and so good. Afterwards, we had watermelon and played Farkle, a fun dice game.
My parents and brother left Sunday. We loved having them here, and miss them so much already! Looking forward to seeing them again during the holidays!
