Recap of the Week!

So, I’m finally do a Week in Review (with a name change of course).  One of my new year resolutions is to do a post like this every week on Saturday (another little sneak peek for ya!).  So, here is what has happened this week!

Sunday, we delivered presents to a family in our community.  While I’ve done angel tree gifts in the past, this was a first for us in regards to how big of an undertaking it was.  We received a list of wants and needs for the kids (and there were 5 kids), which was split among our small group.  Some of our group weren’t able to actually get out and buy gifts, so they donated money instead.  We took that money, as well as our own donation, and bought gifts for two of the girls.  It was difficult because I don’t know that age range very well (they were 11 and 12), but it was still fun to create the gifts and wrap them, especially since we had One Direction wrapping paper!

After Sunday, we had a few days to recuperate and look ahead.  I cleaned most of the house this week, knowing that we wouldn’t have much of a chance next week with all of the holiday activities.  I also started trying out some of the resolutions I have planned in the upcoming year to figure out my time management.  I know myself all too well, and I know that I tend to overwhelm myself with things if I’m not careful.  Surprisingly, it’s been pretty smooth sailing so far, so I hope that it will continue to be successful in the new year.  I can’t wait to share all of that with you in the beginning of January!

This week has been a series of ups and downs.  I have been really focused on work, trying to make some personal deadlines before the end of the year, which meant long nights trying to get everything done on my to do list.  Sometimes I lose focus by being too focused, if that makes sense.  I love using to do lists up to a point, and I think I met that point this week.  I know that usually they help me stay on task (since I have attention and focus problems to begin with), but I think it just brought on stress.  So, until these end of the year projects are done, I’m going to table the to do list and just take each day as it comes.

A friend of mine also lost her father this week.  I mention it in one of my videos.  It was unexpected, though he has been in and out of the hospital recently.  My thoughts and prayers are with that family, especially since this has happened so close to Christmas.

Finally, next week is Christmas week!  I’m so excited.  I look forward to spending time with friends and family that I don’t normally see in my day to day life.  It will be great to catch up and make memories together.

I hope you are all having a wonderful start to your Christmas week!
