Recap of the Week (November 21st-27th, 2013)

Sorry this is going up a little late.  We have had a crazy busy week and weekend, but then again, what’s new?  🙂  Each of the picture collages below will take you to the corresponding video for that day, in case you didn’t have a chance to watch it.  Otherwise, there will be a recap underneath each picture.  Enjoy!

Our week started with a bit of traveling.  We were celebrating Christmas with Michael’s family this year, so we headed out to his parents house on Saturday.  Michael’s brother, Christopher, and his wife, Rach, were there for the weekend, so we exchanged gifts, took pictures and had a lot of Starbucks.  🙂  It was great seeing them and catching up.  We had wonderful conversations, and we are blessed to have such a great relationship with them, which continually gets even better year to year.

Before they left, we did a little thrift store shopping.  The town where my in laws live has some amazing thrift stores!  You can find almost anything there!  That evening, we headed to the local college grounds to look at their Christmas light display.  It certainly did not disappoint!

On Monday, I spent most of the day at the headquarters for the place I work for from home.  It was wonderful to catch up with everyone!  Afterwards, I did a little more last minute Christmas gift and Christmas dinner shopping with my mother in law.  It was much of a video kind of day, but it was productive!

Unfortunately, I did spend part of the week a little under the weather, though it only lasted through the morning on Christmas eve.  I was still able to join in the festivities that evening, which included a Candlelight service and homemade pizzas (a tradition we hope to incorporate for many Christmases to come!)

Then, the Christmas day finally arrived!  We had blueberry pancakes, ala Michael, for breakfast.  We opened presents that morning, and I think I got every single thing I asked for!  Not that getting presents was as fun as watching others open their presents.  Michael bought me a standing mixer (my other one broke about a year and a half ago) and I got him power tools.  I think this year was the “practical gift” year.  Still, I was thoroughly spoiled with candy, books and many other treats!

We left the following day.  The dogs were so tuckered, I think they slept the whole way home!  When I got home, I immediately unpacked my brand new mixer.  It’s really pretty.  🙂  After that, it was time for laundry and getting ready for another fun-filled weekend, but more on that next week.  🙂
