SPCA and the Superbowl

I’m combining these two events because I didn’t get any pictures.  I was caught up in the moment both times, but I thought I would share them with you anyway.

The first one was the SPCA Behavior Volunteers Ceremony.  It was part recognition, part new information for Behavior volunteers.  Plus, there was a slideshow of some of the dogs that we worked with after they were adopted.  The stories these new families shared brought tears to my eyes.  Michael came with me, and we both got excited when we saw our first foster puppy on the screen.  It makes me so happy that she has found her forever home.

The second event was the Superbowl, which we celebrated differently this year.  Usually, we go to someone’s house and watch the game.  But this year, we decided to go to the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson for a board game night.  The Alamo Drafthouse is a movie theater/bar and grill.  They have different things going on almost every night of the week, and this Sunday was board game night.

Usually we come with our missional community and end up playing together with them, but this time we managed to catch other people at the beginning of their game, so we played with them.  We played Citadel which was simple but really fun.  I love the community atmosphere.

Also, Alamo makes some pretty awesome milkshakes.  And technically, they had the game on one of their TV screens, so we watched the Superbowl as well.  It just wasn’t the main event this year.

I did manage to take pictures at the other event we went to this weekend, but I will save that for Wednesday’s post!

Do you have a favorite board game?  Did you watch the Superbowl?
