Remembering Christmas

Since I didn’t blog at all last week, I thought I would do a quick recap of our Christmas. This year, we spent Christmas with my family.  One of the things I love about having Christmas with my family is the traditions we do every year.  The night before, we open up one particular present – Christmas pajamas to wear that evening and during the opening of presents the next morning.

We also have a traditional Christmas dessert called boiled custard.  It’s a family recipe passed down through at least four generations.  It’s kind of like eggnog, only thicker.

While this isn’t an every year tradition, when I was little, we would have Italian food on Christmas eve.  This year, we got to do this at my Grandma’s house.  She made yummy lasagna, and she had about four different pies for dessert.  I am so thankful for the time I got to spend with her.

I also got to spend time with my other grandmother (as seen in the pajama picture), who was staying with us this Christmas.  We even pulled out the family genealogy and managed to fill in a few more blanks in the family tree (apparently, we are from very old French court).

Then, the day after Christmas, we drove to Callaway Gardens for dinner and a Christmas lights tour.  It was so much fun!  Here’s a little video I did to recap Christmas, which includes a little bit of the Christmas light tour!

Do you have any family traditions?  Did you recap your Christmas on your blog?  Let me know in the comments below!
