Today I Learned: Overnight Oats

This month is National Oatmeal Month, so I thought I would try to make overnight oats.  I thought they were going to be harder to make than regular oatmeal, but what I found out was that it’s really no different!  All of the ratios were the same, according to the recipe I got from Hurry The Food Up.

But the reasons I liked the overnight option were 1) overnight oats are flexible as both a hot cereal or cold cereal in the morning (cause you can warm it up the morning you use it), and 2) it’s better than the cold cereal you buy off the shelf because you can control the ingredients, namely the sugar content, that you add.

  1. Woooohoo! I am an oat fanatic, and we just recently started making overnight oats and LOVE them!!!!! Those look great the way you made them too! We like to add organic PB too… you know how fudge kind of tastes thick and cold in milkshakes? That sorta is like the PB in the overnight oats! DELISH! Have a great weekend, Katy!!!

    • I did add organic PB to another one that got edited out of the video. I totally agree how it tasted like a milkshake. Also, adding a little vanilla along with vanilla almond milk? Just. Like. Ice Cream.
