I realize I’ve been MIA this week, and there is a very good reason for that.
These were our two guests for the week. I’ve talked about pet-sitting before. I love working with dogs so much and it started with just watching a neighbor’s dog, and then another neighbor, and then a friend. Soon, I built up a little clientele. It’s not a solid income or anything like that, but just some extra money on the side. I haven’t really grown it into a business because we are still wanting to start a family, and if I get pregnant, that will put it on hold, especially for new clients.
Back to the reason I’ve been quiet this week. One of my long-time clients was going away for half of this week and needed his pups to be watched. This adorable one has been in my house several times now, and as soon as he acclimated, he just walked around like part of the family.
They just adopted this puppy which turned out to be part Great Pyrenees and part Lab. This dog is going to get big. Luckily, it was still small enough to tote around. She was definitely a force to be reckoned.
I had to adjust some things, like feeding in shifts (because everyone was into everyone’s food, and I had to make sure everyone was actually eating). Each day brought new challenges and discoveries. I learned how each dog like to play and when it was time for some quiet time. One day, I let them play hard for an hour, and then they all collapsed and slept for another hour after that! I tried to give equal amounts of attention to all of them, but that left little time near a computer or even my phone (hence the lack of pictures, although they moved so fast it would have been blurry anyway).
All in all, it was a fun week, but definitely a tiring one. When the guests went home, my dogs both collapsed in my office while I was working on my computer. Needless to say, they had a great time with these friends, and we look forward to having them again!
Wow, it sounds like you definitely had a full house! I now wish you lived close to me as we are always looking for a good dog sitter that we trust! 😊
Thank you for the compliment! I love anything that surrounds me with dogs. It’s a bit of an obsession, really. 🙂 And yes, I wish we lived closer as well, for a multitude of reasons.
