March Favorites

I know that I say “this month flew by” just about every time a month ends.  But this time, I actually lost track of time and didn’t realize that the end of the month had come already.

Since I’ve done a January and February favorites already this year, I figured I would keep going with the tradition.  However, there really weren’t a whole lot of outstanding products I encountered this month, other than ones I’ve already shared in past months.   So I’m going to do things a little different.

You see, March had two significant running themes for me.  Pet-sitting and video games.  So I thought I would share my favorite products from these two categories instead of my usual ones.

Pet-sitting/Dog related

A couple of years ago, I purchased this really nifty dog walking organizer.  It is perfect for housing doggie bags (it even has a special compartment for used ones), plus my phone and pepper spray (cause we got coyotes and bobcats here and I don’t take my chances).  It easily slips onto the handle of the leash or accommodates the retractable leash as well.  Plus, you can’t beat the price.  You can find it on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2nlif2q

Also, another thing I purchased originally for foster dogs, then pet-sitting dogs without crates, and now for my pup, Teddy, was this oversized collapsible crate.  I will probably need to buy another one now that Teddy has taken up permanent residence in the one I currently own.  Usually, my pet-sitting pups come with their own crate, but if they don’t, I tend to use this one as something they stay in if I have to run to the store.  And, I like that it’s easy to slide under the bed when I’m not using it.  Plus clean up is super easy as well.  You can find this one on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2nFCeN1

Video Games

So, I talked about this in my February Favorites post, but Mass Effect: Andromeda actually came out this month (last week to be exact).  And I played on the easiest setting so that I could see the story unfold.  I am a sucker for a good story.  And I’m not going to confess just how much time I devoted to this game over the last two weeks, but let’s just say it was a lot.  About a week after the game came out, I slowed down a bit.  I’m actually playing it again as the male character (I played the female character the first go around), but this time I’m not quite as obsessed.

Now, to be honest, it’s a little embarrassing to admit just how much I like this game.  I mentioned that I play Sims, but honestly, I really seldom play games very much at all.  I played Zelda: Ocarina of Time in college straight through on a Saturday.  But other than that, I typically focus on other hobbies – organizing, planning, a little gardening, and of course dogs.  So I don’t consider myself a gamer.  But it has opened a door to a whole new community of interesting people.

And also, the game is rated Mature.  And there are some mature things in it.  Granted, when I played through, I didn’t come across some of the more scandalous cut scenes, but they are there.  It saddens me that companies think they have to create these scenes in order to keep the player engaged because I think the game could have done without them and would have been just fine.

I like a lot of the writing (although some of the lines are way cheesy).  The best writing, by far, is found in the emails that your character receives.  The landscape graphics are beautiful as are the graphics in space (although the travel gets old as you get towards the end of the game). There has been a lot of criticism about the character animations, and I just have to say, I agree, but it didn’t bother me enough to stop enjoying the gameplay.  Plus, there are still some navigational and side mission bugs that need to be worked out, but overall, definitely a fun game to play.  So, that’s my quick review of the whole game.  If you would like to join in the fun, you can purchase the game on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2nllffd

What have been some of your favorites this month?

Have you ever been obsessed about something outside of the normal for you?

I also wanted to let you know that I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.  These are all things I have used personally.  I wouldn’t recommend something I haven’t tried myself.  Thanks!
