20170227_155125My love language is Gifts. Several years ago, Michael bought me a Pandora charm bracelet. It has helped immensely on birthdays and anniversaries. But it’s also been a great way to memorialize things near to me.  Each of my daughters is represented on this bracelet, and I absolutely love it.  You can buy the bracelet on Amazon from Pandora here.

1This month, I’ve been trying to drink more water as one of my goals.  I’ve been using the Hydro Coach app for Android.  I love it.  It reminds me every two hours to drink water (which you can adjust as needed).  It even makes a water dripping sound when it notifies me to drink.  It’s pretty easy and nifty to use!  Click here for more info.

So, this one is a little telling on myself.  I play video games.  Usually just the Sims, which I love (Sims 4 for PC actually), but this month Origin (the place where I store and buy all my PC games on my desktop) was giving away Mass Effect 2 for free.  I had heard of the franchise but never played it.  I like a good story with lots of quests, and this game definitely fit the bill!  The thing I like the most is that all of your decisions affect your gameplay.  If you don’t upgrade your ship, people will die towards the end.  If you decide to pursue a friendship, you can learn more about the person and it can help you unlock other secrets.  It’s pretty fantastic.  There are so many choices, I can play the game again and again.

Well, I found out the REAL reason why it is out for free.  The new Mass Effect Andromeda is coming out in March.  It’s going to be crazy insane with amazing graphics and more of the storytelling that I love.  Also, it’s keeping all the different options to play so I could play it again and again.  But it’s a pretty hefty price tag ($70) and I would either need to upgrade my computer or get an Xbox One which is an even bigger price tag (we have a 360 so we know and like a lot of the games connected with this console).  I have money saved, but I’m still hesitant.  Perhaps I’ll play ME2 a few more times while I think about it.  🙂

If you want to preorder Andromeda you can do that here.

Or if you want to try the original trilogy, you can purchase it here.

What are some things you have been loving this month?  It doesn’t have to be in the above categories, either!  I love trying out new things!

And does anyone else like video games?  Or do you have a quirky interest of your own that you don’t talk about too often?

January Favorites

January is coming to an end!  What a crazy and wild month this has been.  Among all the craziness of this month, I have managed to enjoy a few things that I want to share with you.

Ok ladies, I’m about to lay down some truth.  If you have a larger bust like I do, and you like to do anything active, you know the epic journey that is finding the perfect sports bra.  Well, I think, at least for me, I did.  Glamorise Women’s No-Bounce Full-Support Sport Bra is by far the most comfortable and supportive sports bra I have ever worn.  I can do yoga, jumping jacks, or even run around with the dogs at the SPCA, and I am completely supported and comfortable.  I got one to try back in October, and I loved it so much I bought two more this month.  If you made a commitment to get active this year, this is a definite must have.  You can buy yours here.

9372393_largerThis month, I’ve been using the Team Better app for Android as a daily way to work towards a healthier lifestyle.  Team Better creates a daily challenge each day (like do a plank or make a health goal or eat a protein at every meal).  If you accomplish the goal, it will give you a certain amount of tickets.  Then, on Sundays, it holds a raffle for gift cards.  I’ve never won, but I’m not really in it for the gift cards.  I like the idea of completing a simple challenge every day.  And none of the challenges take more than 15 mins to complete, or they are very easy to incorporate into busy schedules.  Learn more at http://www.teambetter.com.

One of the things I got for Christmas that I’ve been loving is my Dead Sea Mud Mask from Pure Body Naturals.  I managed to get a pamper night this month, so I tried it out.  It was so relaxing.  The mask doesn’t feel harsh on my skin and I have pretty sensitive skin.  And once I washed the mask off, my skin did feel so much better!  I don’t know about the claims of the fountain of youth, but this is definitely worth a little pampering indulgence! You can buy your own here.

December Favorites

I know I’m doing this a week early, but next week is going to be crazy.  I’m actually going to take the week off from blogging and videos for the next week so that I can spend time with family and my husband.  We are celebrating our ninth anniversary next week as well, which I’m looking forward to.  So, this will be the last blog post this year!

The weather outside is finally cold, so now I can slip into these!  These are BOBs from Skechers Women’s Keepsakes Delight Slipper.  I practically live in these shoes during the winter.  They are so cozy and comfortable.  I think I got these a couple years ago for Christmas, but I wear them every year during the winter months.  Sometimes, I will even wear them to the grocery store.  With long jeans, they just look like regular shoes!  You can get them on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2h6Jg9W

003Also, I’ve been wearing a lot more jewelry this month, and I’ve really been loving this bracelet that Michael got me a while ago.  It’s by Georgie Designs on Etsy.  It’s absolutely gorgeous and simple, which is why I like it so much.  You can add more charms to the bracelet if you want to.  Also, if it needs to be resized, she’s willing to resize it for you!  She also makes a lot of other gorgeous bracelets, so her shop is worth checking out. (By the way, I’m not sponsored by her.  I just love her stuff and thought I would send some love back her way).

I have been doing yoga for years now.  I had to stop during my pregnancy because of my pubic symphysis disorder, but I’m finally able to incorporate yoga back into my daily rhythm.  Usually, I use YouTube to find practices that fit into my schedule, but I found an app that creates great practices too!

The down dog app creates practices for anywhere from 15 to 35 minutes and from beginner to advanced.  Along with the practice, they also include music that is set to the pace of the yoga sequence.  And I really enjoyed doing these practices.  You can also choose the sequence types, from full practice, restorative, and on your feet.  You can customize it even more if you become a member, which I haven’t done yet, but it’s only 3.99 a month.  So I may be doing that in the new year.  You can find out more at: https://www.downdogapp.com/

Health and Beauty

I have had thick hair that has gone from straight to wavy over the last few years, but after my pregnancy loss in August, I’ve had nothing but frizzy hair that seems to fall out a lot.  I’ve tried a lot of shampoos on the market, but then I got a coupon for Garnier’s Whole Blends.  I tried it for the first time at Thanksgiving, and goodness what a difference! My hair has regained it’s softness and it has been a lot easier to manage.  Of course, I’ve also been allowing my hair to air dry a lot more, and I have been using hair bands that are easier on my hair, but I have also noticed a lot less hair falling out as well.  Plus, it smells amazing.  You can find more about it here: http://amzn.to/2i6uzFP

In addition to the shampoo and conditioner, I’ve fallen back in love with It’s a 10 leave-in product.  I used to use this all the time.  It’s a bit on the pricey side for me (although it’s not that expensive), but it lasts for at least 3-4 months at a time, depending on what size you buy.  I buy the 10 oz.  I’m not exaggerating when I say the product is magic.  And I’ve tried cheaper alternatives, only to keep coming back to this.  You can find it here: http://amzn.to/2hWq3Gt

Those are all of the things I have been loving this month. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.  See you in the new year!
