December Goals

Fall is now over, and the Christmas season has begun.  Before I get into the December Goals, I want to give you one last update on the goals this Fall.  I made these goals without knowing whether or not I was pregnant, and they were not as doable as I had hoped, considering I was in my first trimester for most of Fall.  However, I managed to complete most of them.  So, here’s how they turned out.


Spiritually, I am going to attend a Bible Study. Completed.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Ladies Bible Class I attended each week.  Those ladies are so sweet and I look forward to (hopefully, depending on pregnancy) attending the next one in the new year!

For healthI am going to do some type of yoga or meditation every day. Fail, sorta.  I didn’t do this every day, unless you count hearing the heartbeat every night as meditation.  Then, I totally did this perfectly the last three weeks.  I have been doing yoga, but not every day.  And I want to be careful of what I can and can’t do as I continue into this pregnancy.  We had some (not serious but could affect exercise) concerns in last week’s appointment that could clear up on their own by the next appointment.  So, I’m going to take it slow and easy until then.  Maybe cut the yoga down to once or twice a week.

For homeI want to decorate each month. Completed.  I did my mantle each month, and when I put away the November things, I divided them into Fall and Thanksgiving for better decorating next year.  I forgot to take a picture, though!

For online/writingI’m going to do a weekly video check-in. Completed.  This has been do fun to do, and as I mentioned in the video for week 15, I plan to continue to do it as long as I can.

And finally, the bonus goal, I want to get back into my planner. Changed.  I realized this season that I’m not longer the same planner that I was a few years ago.  I now gravitate towards online calendars and spreadsheets, with a daily to do list as well.  I’m changing up my planner style a bit, which I hope to show you in the new year.


I’ve thought and wrestled with what to do the last month of this year.  And in the end, I decided to not make any measurable goals and both of the reasons have to do with my pregnancy.

  1. I have limited energy during my day, and while I hope to continue eating healthy and staying active, I also want to really focus on the Christmas season this year.  It may be our last holiday just Michael and me, and I don’t want to be worried about additional checklists (other than the ones for buying gifts, those are the best checklists).
  2. Next year is unpredictable.  There are so many things that could happen that would affect my day-to-day schedule, that this might be my last “normal” month (or the entire rest of my pregnancy could be normal, but who’s to say?).  So I want to treasure this time with the dogs, my husband, my home, my friends and my family, and focus on that.

Christmas time is so special and magical.  I’ve already made so many memories and I’m looking forward to creating even more this month.  I hope all of you are having a good end to your year, that you aren’t stressing out too much, and that you get to spend some precious time with your friends and family.
